hi friends, family, people of deep consequence,

this is my first bloggity blog. hooray! applause. i'm gonna mess up a bunch, so please be patient with me...

i'm trying to find another way, besides Facebook, to post some entries about my now journey with cancer. many of you know i was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer on july 15, while i was teaching a storytelling workshop. it's been a fast-moving couple of weeks since then, and i'm doing really well, thanks to the support of so so so so many lovelies like yourselves. i guess it really does take a village sometimes. 

so i start chemo in about a week or so (times TBT), and will be on an 18 week schedule. after that, i will have surgery (mastectomy). the reason for chemo before surgery is to try to shrink the tumor size before having surgery. lots to be determined along the way, but i just want to keep you all up-to-date along the way. 

i feel fine. i feel good. i feel loved and energetic, and i feel the wind on my face and the rain hitting my forehead. i love all of this, deeply. this entry seems static, and it will improve, i guarantee it. and i invite those who wish to follow me along this next path, to, well, read, write, leave comments...etc...and we can have a discussion about possible things i may need that maybe you can give–like coming to sit with me during chemo treatments, play scrabble with me, tell me jokes, read me stories, hold my hand, laugh, cry, laugh, feed me some good clean food, draw on my eyebrows, that sorta stuff.
